I have had the good fortune to accompany dedicated doctors and other healthcare providers to several countries. My contribution to their efforts is to provide documentation of these missions through photos. The members of this organization raise money to buy medical supplies, equipment, medications, vitamins and food for people who are less fortunate. The photos on this website are from the most recent trip to Accra and Cape Coast, Ghana (March 2008); Cartagena, Colombia (August 2006) and from Arad, Romania (November 2003).
I also accompanied humanGrace, a charitable organization, to Aalborg, Denmark (July 2008) in partnership with Caretakers International Environmental Youth Conference to launch "Threads of Equality," a dynamic program that respectfully deconstructs flags, separating the pieces by color; then quilting the pieces back together to create monochromatic banners. These quilts will tour the world in respective countries that have participated by donating flags and in the quilting process. They will also be viewed by visitors to the United Nations headquarters.
